$5,000.00 reward offer- Dustin Clayton

Crime Stoppers is asking for the community's help in solving this crime. On Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:11 pm Officers with the Topeka Police Department responded to the call of a shooting in the 500 block of SW Lane. Upon arrival, Officers located Dustin M. Clayton (pictured) suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Clayton was pronounced dead at the scene.

A black SUV is seen speeding away from the area after the gunshot driven by what a witness describes as a w/m with curly or wavy unkempt hair. Detectives continue to seek the identities of the occupants of the black SUV as well as the identity and motive of the person responsible for the murder.

$22,000 reward offer – Mercedes M. Holford and Crystal D. Andrews

An anonymous donor gave Shawnee County Crime Stoppers $20,000 to be used as an enhanced reward for information leading to an arrest in the double homicide of a mother and her 13-year-old daughter.

In addition to the $20,000 enhanced reward, Crime Stoppers is offering an additional $2,000, totaling a $22,000 reward offer.

On July 14, 2020 shortly after 1:45 a.m., officers with the Topeka Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of SW 5th St. on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two deceased victims inside a residence with apparent gunshot wounds. The victims were later identified as Crystal D. Andrews, 37 of Topeka and Mercedes M. Holford, 13 of Topeka.

Topeka Police later released pictures of a person of interest in the homicide. Police are still seeking information about the person of interest and have released an additional video clip.

$22,000 reward offer – John K. Waller

The family of a homicide victim has given Shawnee County Crime Stoppers $20,000 to be used for a reward leading to the arrest of a suspect in the John K. Waller homicide case.

Waller’s body was found on June 17, 2019 at 9:44 a.m. inside a residence in the 700 block of SW Wayne. It is believed Waller was killed between June 3 and June 4.

In addition to the $20,000 reward, Shawnee County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case, totally a $22,000 reward offer.

“We have seen enhanced rewards work in other communities across the country, including just up the road in Kansas City,” said Shawnee County Crime Stoppers President Angel Romero. “We are grateful to the Waller family for reaching out to provide these funds for an enhanced reward in this case.”

$7,000 reward offer – Dwane D. Simmons

Note: A conviction occurred in this case, but it was not as a result of a Crime Stoppers tip. The Topeka Police Department is still looking for additional suspects and information related to this homicide. Reward money is still available in exchange for important information that leads to an arrest.

An anonymous donor associated with Washburn University gave Shawnee County Crime Stoppers $5,000 to be used as an enhanced reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in the Dwane D. Simmons homicide case.

Along with this $5,000 enhanced reward, County Crime Stoppers is still offering up to an additional $2,000, totaling a $7,000 reward offer.

At approximately 12:46 a.m. Sunday, April 28, officers from the Topeka Police Department responded to the 1400 block of SW 13th in reference to a disturbance with gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim who was deceased. The victim of the homicide was later identified as 23-year-old Dwane D. Simmons.
